Good Mood and Sweet Earrings

I am in a good mood today! A lot of little things are going on today that have made me happy. For example, I'm wearing orange. I love orange - not bright orange like the hunting vest I wear every November, but burnt orange like my kitchen's accent wall. Another example is my new pair of earrings. Dang, they are sexy (and pictured to your right)! Also, I got a good hair cut yesterday evening. I despise getting my hair cut, and I was literally shaking and almost in tears when I left Cassandra's shop. It's like when you see those four year old kids screaming in the barber chair. Most people think they are horribly annoying, but me? I just relate! Anyway, good hair is always a perk. And even though my hair is in a fancy little ponytail today - I know good hair is tucked away in that rubberband. So for now, I will listen to my hammered gold, tear-shapped earrings jingle when I walk as my good hair sways in my ponytail over the back of my way-cute orange jacket and just be in a good mood!

Simply Shelby

Well, this is my first blog, and since this is my first entry, I will just tell you a little bit about myself. Number 1 is JESUS CHRIST. "For I have accepted God's idea of me and my whole life is an offering back to Him of all that I am and all that He wants me to be."

The most important person in my life is Nathaniel. Ladies, I'm posting a picture. Now do you see why I like him so much?

Nathaniel

Funny thing is that has nothing to do with the reason I adore him - it's just an added perk! He is one of the kindest, funniest guys I've ever met. Not a day goes by where he doesn't make me smile. In fact, since we've been married, a smile is permanently on my face.

We LOVE to travel. Our goal is to visit every National Park in the US. This picture is taken on our latest adventure in Yosemite National Park.

Little more about Nate: he's in a Southern Rock band called "Coldtrail", and I am his biggest fan. He writes the most beautiful songs. He's the one person I know who really LIVES his walk with God - he may be silly, but he is genuine. Lastly, he works so hard for our future. He is almost ready to be a State Farm agent, and I am so proud of him.

Okay, about me. First things first: I am a reality tv junkie!! I don't remember life without TiVo, and I wouldn't want to! My dog, Harleigh is too cool for school. I love four-wheeling, Dr. Laura, writing, fashion, being Nathaniel's wife, Reba McEntire, Peanut Butter, politics (McCain/Palin!), Desperate Housewives, frozen grapes, daffodils, being in the woods, jeans with holes in them, my dog's ears when you say, "Do you want a treat?!", and hunting both deer and turkey. My life is GOOD - really good. And I give J.C. all the glory.
